St Julians

St Julian’s is considered one of, if not the best, nightlife hubs in Malta. The area of Paceville located in St Julian’s is where you will find one of the highest concentrations of bars, pubs and clubs and is the place to be if you like a late night.

With seafront bars, lido’s, sports bars, clubs, English and local pubs, you are spoilt for choice and is frequented by tourists and locals alike. As well as the drinking establishments, there is a wide range of restaurants from cafes to top-end restaurants serving up anything from burgers and pizza to the fresh catch of day. A large number of these can be found by Spinola Bay and at night it looks quite something with the lights reflecting off the water in the bay and even better if you are there at the towns annual feast day which takes place at the end of August with some spectacular fireworks.

St Julian’s is located on the coastline and has two calm bays. There is a small beach towards St Georges, Balluta Bay, but mainly the sea front is rocky here, the closer to Sliema you get the smoother and flatter it gets and you will find lots of sunbathers, swimmers and snorkelling going on with easy access to the sea. The seafront can be walked in either direction taking you towards St Georges Bay or towards Sliema and makes for a very scenic and pleasant walk and great to explore the area. Next to the Hilton Malta you will also find a marina, you can wander around the marina where you can spot some impressive yachts moored up and even more restaurants.
